At this moment there are over six and half billion people who can make a difference on their carbon boot print / footprint.
Unfortunately, the difficult and at times dire situations faced by some countries place many people, through no choice of their own, in a position where they endure poverty and a lack of a humane life in precarious environments.
They have more pressing needs to address which they hope will ensure their survival, than how our global civilisation/village succeeds in decreasing its carbon pollution (greenhouse gases).
Success is naturally the goal of all the targets set out to combat climate change effects. However the target year of 2050 is far away and there are many enterprises that need to be implemented before a 80% reduction in carbon pollution is achieved.
A good measure of the prospects in accomplishing the above is how quickly our global society realises the opportunities that the success of United Nations Development Plan for 2015 offers.
Every measure of success in this development plan will enhance the likelihood and progress of achieving the very needed 2050 carbon pollution reduction target.
